YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE
The prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples in Matthew chapter 6 is, above all, instructive and points us towards a deep intimacy with the Father. It speaks to us of God's Holy character and by declaring the Lord's holiness we worship him, fulfilling the reason for our very existence.
In this prayer we find Jesus teaching us to cry out for the presence of the Kingdom of God on earth. Your kingdom come points us to the fact that the Kingdom of Heaven establishes its lordship not only over this earth, but also over our lives, our ministries, organizations and everything that permeates our missionary action, without forgetting that this Kingdom extends over every ethnic group on earth. This fulfills God's desire expressed by the patriarchs, prophets and Jesus himself to see the gospel message spread from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Your will be done! No longer my desires, my plans, my projects, but the will of the one who reigns over everyone and everything.
During the X Brazilian Missions Congress, we want to celebrate God's great deeds throughout the more than 50 years of the Brazilian missions movement, at the same time as we want, in deep conviction, to cry out for God's Kingdom to be established among those who have never heard the gospel, intentionally seeking his will to guide us for the future of the missions movement in our nation, walking in obedience and faithfulness.
